We offer specialized eyelets with unique shapes and functions, including quick-lacing guides, waterproof and dustproof features, and ventilation and heat dissipation designs. Materials include brass, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, and engineered plastic composites, with a variety of surface treatments including electroplating, PVD, and painting upon request. Special shape and functional eyelets are designed to provide more functional and aesthetic options for footwear design, and are widely used in sports shoes, outdoor shoes, waterproof shoes and fashionable casual shoes.

Materials

  • Brass: Excellent ductility and clean edge forming; supports multi-color plating and PVD; ideal for small to mid sizes and decorative functions.
  • Stainless Steel: Best corrosion resistance and strength; first choice for outdoor, sweat, and coastal environments.
  • Aluminum or Iron: Lightweight and corrosion-resistant; suitable for athletic footwear and weight-saving designs (mind pull-out strength).
  • Engineering plastic composite (Nylon/TPU + metal insert): Reduces noise and abrasion; skin-friendly. Common in waterproof/quick-lacing modules or large vent-frame structures.

Finishes

  • Electroplating: Nickel/black nickel/antique bronze/gilt/tin/black zinc; recommend trivalent-chromium systems and low-nickel skin-contact solutions.
  • Coatings: E-coat, spray paint, powder coat; wide color gamut; corrosion resistance up to 48–240 h NSS (depending on formula).
  • PVD: Ti gold, black titanium, rose gold; high wear resistance and stable color.
  • Stainless in base color: Polished, brushed, sandblasted; offers the best salt-spray performance.

Functional Designs

  • Speed/Guiding Eyelet
  • Shapes: Oval, long slot, trapezoid, racetrack; eccentric entries/chamfers are also used to smooth lace travel. Notes: Add generous edge radii and polishing to prevent lace cutting; racetrack holes often need washers to boost tear resistance.
  • Water-Resistant/Sealed Eyelet
  • Structure: Metal ring plus elastic seal (TPU/NBR O-ring/gasket), or an integrated plastic frame with a metal sleeve. Notes: Control flare/roll-over compression, select seal materials with sweat/hydrolysis resistance, and ensure proper overlap with upper membranes/booties.
  • Vented/Mesh Eyelet
  • Shapes: Large apertures with embedded metal/plastic mesh, honeycomb patterns, and drain channels. Notes: Balance airflow with dust/sand ingress protection; use SUS mesh or anodized aluminum mesh for corrosion resistance.
